Four titles to rediscover reading
A couple of weeks into the new year, our good resolutions for 2019 start to fade and we have to hold on tight to the ones that motivate us and become, more than a resolution, a good everyday habit. At Marpen we believe some are easier to keep than others, and today we're going to do our best to get you hooked on one that we personally love: reading.
On cold, dreary days, a blanket and a book can become your perfect allies, and we bring you several titles to dive into without noticing the hours go by. We've tried to pick books from different genres so it's much easier for you to choose a candidate and start practising the fine art of reading. Here's our selection:
-
Invierno de Rick Bass.
This book has been described as "Natur writting"; a literary genre that seeks to celebrate nature and the return to our roots. A story told with sensitivity that transports us to the stillness and calm of those idyllic villages where life moves to a different rhythm.

-
Trilogía la Ciudad Blanca.
And we plunge straight into suspense. A gripping story led by two main characters who, across these three works — "El silencio de la ciudad blanca", "Los ritos del agua" and "Los señores del tiempo" — will solve crimes shrouded in mystery. A thrilling chase that will leave you breathless.
-
Patria.
If you're in more of a "cultureta" mood and fancy getting to know something about Spain's more recent history through exceptional storytelling, "Patria", by Fernando Aramburu, will win you over and grip you from start to finish.
-
Todas aquellas veces y otros asuntos pendientes.
And finally, some poetry. Alejandra G. Remon presents a personal, intimate notebook in which she transports us into her inner world. A bedside book, the kind to slot in between novels, to internalise and to feel identified with the experiences she recounts. Fancy rediscovering reading?
