Stay in shape without leaving home
The good weather is here, and with it the rush to get ready for bikini season. Maybe we're already running a little late, and all those popcorn and NETFLIX sessions have taken their toll, but it's never too late if the habit is a good one.
Even though it now gets dark later and we feel less reluctant to do things outdoors, we can always find the perfect spot at home to work out. Here are a few simple tips so that getting in shape doesn't feel like a nightmare.
- Define a workout space.
It's important to choose a part of your home with enough room to do your exercises. You can also set it up with a mat and whatever gear you need. Being comfortable and having enough space is essential for the success of any routine. If you don't have an empty room, you can always move a few things around to make space. Just try not to make it too much of a hassle, or you'll soon tire of shifting furniture around and, in turn, of exercising.
- Look for videos or tutorials to help you.
The best option is to have a routine put together by a professional to guide us through our exercises, but if that's not possible, you can always turn to the internet. There are countless tutorials and guided classes you can follow, always without overdoing it, controlling your movements and being aware of our limits. You can also give disciplines like yoga or pilates a try.
- Find that something that motivates you.
At first it's always hard. It's a matter of getting used to an activity, which is why we need to find our motivating factor. Whether it's the activity itself, the music, the challenge you've set yourself (always a realistic one), or any other factor that makes us want to get down to it and turn it into a routine. And above all, feel comfortable. Don't do this because you're chasing miraculous results, but because it helps you clear your mind, find a moment for yourself, or simply feel better about yourself. You've got this!
