Turn your children's room into a warm and beautiful Nordic-style space
We're passionate about the simplicity of Nordic style. That art of creating a unique and comfortable space with just a few elements and a few key pieces is, without a doubt, its main feature. We tend to overdo decoration, when beauty actually lies in simplicity. That's why today we want to talk to you about how to turn the little ones' room into a comfortable space, full of warm colours and with just a handful of decorative elements and…
Sweet, sweet home!
- If there's one thing that's characteristic of Nordic style, it's beds with wooden house frames. Children will be delighted with their little cabins, and for you they'll be a fabulous support for hanging fairy lights, bunting or any decorative element you can think of — but you know, the idea is not to overload it. If you're handy you can make a DIY, do it yourself, and if not, you can always buy the frame and just assemble it.

- Pick a wall and wallpaper it. Optically, wallpaper tends to make rooms look smaller, but what if you don't wallpaper the whole room? Choose just one wall to place it on and always go for a design with a white background and a pretty, minimalist print. It will work perfectly and give the room a really homely touch.
- Rugs to play on. A pretty rug will save your little one from the cold floor and will also work as a perfect decorative element. Choose one in warm colours, geometric shapes or one that plays with textures; you'll see how much they get out of their little play area.
- Wood will be your faithful ally. Go back to the classics and choose a wooden object to complete the room. A letter with their initial, a garland with little wooden balls or a tipi-shaped headboard made of this material will give the room the finishing touch.
- If there's one thing that can't be missing from a Nordic-style room, it's a Tipi. That Indian-style fabric tent that will become the refuge of the little ones of the house. The perfect place to develop the imagination and dream.

- And finally, decorate with reading. All you'll need is a few slim shelves and your children's favourite books. With this method, all the copies will be on display and, as well as creating a lot of harmony in the room, they'll be able to get started in the world of reading much more easily.
If you're thinking of redoing your children's room and Nordic style inspires you, don't hesitate to include these little tips to create a world made to their measure. Because, as you know, at Marpen we love building homes.
